Yes! VidyoConnect is available from both the Google Play store and Apple App store. Once installed you’ll need to enter the portal address “corp.blpnexi.com” then enter your CORP credentials plus B-unit token code to login. Once logged into the app, you will have similar functionality on mobile as the desktop app to see your starred contacts and rooms as well as search for people and pin numbers.

You can log in to Nexi and join the room named “Nexi Self Test”. It is normal to hear an echo since this room will loop your video and audio back to you.

Placing Calls and Joining Meetings

How do I dial into my Nexi room for an audio conference?
After you set up your meeting in APPT, the dial in details to your meeting will show in the notes section of your APPT booking.

How many people can join a Nexi call?
The maximum number of participants for a Nexi call is 300. If you need to connect more than 300 people via live video, please enter a ticket via {SDSK ADD EVENTS} to enter a request for room reservation and get assistance to broadcast to LIVE.

Can I set up a video conference with a non-Bloomberg employee?
Yes! Use the “Nexi video/audio” feature in APPT to invite non-Bloomberg employees to a video conference. APPT will automatically generate a unique Nexi room based on having external emails associated with the meeting invitation. Non-Bloomberg employees will receive a Nexi link in the meeting invitation which will prompt them to install a browser add-on before joining the call. Guests can also join calls in by dialing in by phone (audio only). You can also send the direct link to your Nexi room to non-Bloomberg guests. Guests must be invited to the meeting on APPT for the link to work. More information on this can be found here.

What is the difference between a Nexi room and a direct call?
A direct call is just like a regular phone call from one person to another. A Nexi room is a standing video conference room that is typically used for more than two people.

How can I share content on Nexi?
You can share whole screens or individual applications with the “Share applications” icon (screen with an arrow) on the bottom right of the Nexi window. The window or application that is shared will have a bright blue outline. You can’t share screens or applications that are minimized.

Can I chat with Participants during a call? Will the chat box text be saved anywhere after the Nexi call finishes?

What is call moderating and how do I do it?

Common Nexi Troubleshooting Questions

I can’t see other participants or they can’t see me. How do I control video settings?
Make sure all participants have their camera active for the call. Participants can turn their cameras off by clicking on the camera icon at the bottom of the Nexi window. Make sure the camera device setting is set to Logitech HD Pro Webcam (in conference rooms and at your desk). Or Use the Help button on a conference room screen to request assistance from Infosys.

Other call participants can’t hear me. How do I control audio settings?
First check that your Nexi audio isn’t muted on the app. If you’re muted, the microphone icon on the bottom of the Nexi screen will be red with a strikethrough. Click on this icon to unmute. If you are unmuted but still cannot be heard check the following: In a conference room: Check that the UC1000 speaker cube isn’t muted (indicated with red lights). Unmute the Cube by tapping on the microphone icon on the Cube or pressing the microphone mute button on the keypad. The Cube lights will turn green to indicate it’s no longer muted. Check the Nexi device settings by clicking on the gear icon on the upper right-hand corner of the screen and making sure the microphone and speaker settings are set to Bloomberg Telephony Device. Use the Help button on the conference room screen to restart Nexi or request assistance from Infosys. At your desk: Check the Nexi device settings by clicking on the gear icon on the upper right-hand corner of the screen and making sure the microphone and speaker settings are set to your headset. If you don’t see your headset as an option, it may not be enabled on your PC; check this by right clicking on the volume/speaker icon on the lower right-hand corner of the Windows taskbar and selecting Recording Devices. Right click in any empty area within the menu and select -Show Disabled Devices-. The headset should appear. Right click on the headset and select Set as Default Device.

There is a lot of noise on the call, what can cause this?
You can improve audio quality by asking participants mute themselves on the app or UC1000 cube when not speaking. You may want to moderate larger calls, which allows you to mute and unmute other participants. If you hear robotic audio from a conference room participating in a call, the participants in that room should restart Nexi by using the Help button on the conference room screen and selecting “Restart Nexi”. (If you hear robotic audio you do not need to restart Nexi – the problem is coming from the room that sounds robotic.) Audio that sounds excessively noisy or distant may be caused by using the wrong device with Nexi. Make sure the microphone and speaker are set to Bloomberg Telephony Device in a conference room and headset from your desk. Or Use the Help button on a conference room screen to request assistance from Infosys.

I can’t hear other participants. How do I control audio settings?
Some audio issues are caused when participants have not muted their mics while someone is speaking.
In a conference room: Check the volume on the UC1000 speaker cube. Tap the volume up icon on touchpad to increase the volume.

Check the Nexi device settings by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right-hand corner of the screen and making sure the microphone and speaker settings are set to Bloomberg Telephony Device. Use the Help button on the conference room screen to restart Nexi or request assistance from Infosys.

At your desk: Check the Nexi device settings to make sure your microphone and speaker settings are set to your headset. If you don’t see the headset as an option, it may not be enabled on your PC; check this by right clicking on the volume/speaker icon on the lower right-hand corner of the Windows taskbar and selecting Playback Devices. Right click in any empty area within the menu and select Show Disabled Devices. Your headset should appear. Right click on the headset and select Set as Default Device.

Video and even audio is “choppy” when I am off site, what can cause this?
The optimal Nexi experience is with a reliable Internet connection. Hard-wire your device (i.e., laptop, desktop) to a router. When that is not feasible, utilize 5GHz as opposed to 2.4GHz connections. The better your connection, the better your experience will be.
